Soil Nailed Bridge Strengthening, Co. Wicklow (2009)
An existing stone bridge along a fast flowing river was showing signs of failure, with cracks observed along the existing carriageway.
Geoman Ltd. provided a soil nail solution with a reinforced concrete face to permanently stabilise the road and keep a busy road open. The solution allowed the existing bridge to be left in place, and minimised disruption to traffic.
